Hobson’s Choice which ran in February was a great success. Thanks to all who performed, directed, back-staged, erected the set, broke the set and made the tea. Thanks also go to those who came to see the show. Indeed, the special ‘overflow’ chairs had to be dusted down and wheeled out on more than one occasion during the week. The Trinity Faithful patronised the production as we have gratefully come to expect but there were also some new faces amongst the masses which is testament to the high standard of the Trinity productions, the wise choice of plays and not in any small way, to the quality of the tea. You can see a short video of the play by clicking on this link…

Sofa So Good by local play-write Christine Goodwin is already in rehearsal under the watchful eye of debut director Bob Willerton and scheduled for the week commencing Tuesday 3rd June. Good luck in your premier directorship, Bob.

Last Tango in Little Grimly by David Tristram is also in rehearsal carefully orchestrated by Audrey Price. Both plays are comedies based around Amateur Dramatics and are expected to do well. They are to run together in the same evening since they are relatively short which will make for an interesting alternative to our normal one-play productions.

The SADATA Festival in Sheffield which runs 9th June to 14th June is to be honoured once again by the Trinity Players. The Last Tango in Little Grimly has been chosen to represent our collective efforts. We really need to pull together to make sure we run off with the award so your attendance and/or assistance is respectfully demanded in any capacity you can offer.

http://www.TrinityPlayersBarnsley.com is now the official website of the Trinity Players but the website is not yet complete. The launch is due around mid-May so bookmark the site and check back soon. In the meantime….

All Photographs are needed for the website so this is a request for you to sort any you have of past productions and bring them along on a Wednesday night or better still, E-Mail them to the address on the CONTACT page. Old photographs would be especially interesting. All photographs will be taken care of and returned after they have been electronically scanned.

A Photographer has been asked to come along and take a group photo of all of the members at 9PM on 7thMay. Please attend if you can so that you can get onto the website for the whole world to see.

Trinity Logo Since we’re on the subject of a website, it seems appropriate to discuss a commercial presence, err, a corporate identity!? Err no, I mean a logo! Now, if there were a competition to send in your suggestions, I’d guess the response would be between zero and one (and I’d have my money on zero) so how about you choose from the selection below and express your opinion in whatever method seems appropriate – please be critical and as rude as you like.

The George and Dragon Don’t forget that all the real business gets sorted out in the pub on Summer Lane after rehearsals every Wednesday evening. Even if you’re not involved in the current play, come along to Trinity around 9 to offer constructive criticism of the rehearsal (on your head be it) or go straight to the George about 9:30PM. There’s a quiz, beer and mucky fat sarnies. Who could possibly resist?
